Dual Immersion Academy (DIA) 
A language acquisition program that provides language learning and academic instruction for native speakers of English and speakers of another language, with the goals of high academic achievement, first and second language proficiency, and cross-cultural understanding.  This program begins in Kindergarten and continues through eighth grade.

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

VISION
All students will have access to a path to success.

MISSION
The mission of AVID Elementary is to ensure all students will:
  • Demonstrate Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization and Reading skills (WICOR);
  • Utilize organization skills;
  • Develop student success skills; and
  • Successfully make the transition to middle school.


Purpose of the AVID program

Purpose:
1. To cultivate intrinsic motivation
    • Creating a vision of academic success.
    • Creating a belief that academic rigor is expected, possible and attainable.
    • When the above are in place, positive self-esteem and self-confidence will follow.
 
2. To create better students and teachers through the development of a consistent way to think and process information.
3. To provide equal access to AVID Elementary methodologies for all students.
4. To create a bridge between elementary and middle school.
